This book provides a comprehensive summary of Sorensen’s ten years of research into improvisation as a practice and metaphor for expert teaching. This review summarises the key points of the author’s theoretical model and the outcomes of his most significant studies. It also highlights proposals for designing training courses that align with the notion of the “improvising teacher”, and suggests potential applications in an Italian setting.
